Very few instances have been reported that link textiles to healthcare associated infections (HAIs) and, in comparison to the high volume of textiles used in the healthcare industry, the CDC considers the risk of infection through hygienically clean textiles as negligible. Maintaining textile integrity is achievable by following proper processing requirements, and following protocol for delivery, handling, and storage throughout the linen cycle.
